Eel Pie Island Summer ’15 Nepal Earthquake Appeal Update

Nepal Earthquake Appeal- Update

During the Open Studio weekends I raffled this painting in aid of Nepal in conjunction with Twickenham Rotary Club. All proceeds will go for long-term help for rural communities in Nepal. Many thanks to all who contributed and we raised £1,665 which I believe the govt. will match.  The winner was local teacher Ross Williamson.

The above painting entitled ‘Sanctuary’ oil on linen 28″ x 36″ depicts the view from my studio on old Grosvenor Dock in Pimlico where I was Resident Artist for Westminster Council in 1999.  There was a community of houseboats and Conways yard tucked away behind the Lister Hospital opposite Chelsea Bridge and it was a quiet haven with views under the Embankment to Battersea Power Station opposite.
